Improve Your Self-Talk

We all have an inner voice It is talking to you all the time, whether you are aware of it or not.

Sometimes it is a good friend helping us with positive feedback and making us feel good about ourselves. However, it often has a critical side and can make us feel bad about who we are and create obstacles that get in the way of our happiness and living a great life. My experience in my therapy practice is that most of us have an inner critic who will work overtime with no pay.

The purpose of my book: Talk to Yourself Like Someone You Are Trying To Help is to train your inner voice to help you more and hurt you less. It will help you recognize when your inner voice is feeding you negative self-talk and self-limiting beliefs. You will learn to capture and crush the negative, unhealthy internal dialogue and replace it with dialogue that supports you, motivates you, and helps you feel good about who you are and what you are doing.

It is extremely important to understand that the negative comments and events that attack a person’s being and essence need not define who they are or trap them in a prison of believing they are not worthy of a meaningful life, that they are less than or insignificant.

Know too, if your inner critic is harsh, unsupportive, or even mean, this is a collection of voices from your past and it is a reflection of the people who have said them to you. And if it is the witnessing or experiencing of events that created your doubt or lack of self-confidence, you can rise above your circumstances and replace your inner voice with one that supports you, builds you up, and helps you become the person you were intended to be. This book will help you do that.

It is time to stop listening to the voices of others who could not rise above negativity and their circumstances, stand up straight with your shoulders back, look the world in the eye, and claim your own self-defined, rightful place.
